Relocate to Wisconsin : Real Estate Referrals CAN be a Piece of Cake !

Real Estate Referrals CAN be a Piece of Cake !

In Real Estate 101 one of the first things you learn is to make sure that EVERYONE you know and EVERYONE you meet Real estate 101knows what  you do....I remember what now seems like a century ago writing out cards as a newly licensed agent and including a business card letting everyone know I was ready for whatever came our way in listings and real estate sales. (Not of course realizing what experience does....and how unprepared I REALLY was !)

I didn't wear a name tag to the grocery store...we don't wrap our cars full of logos or put our business cards in with our credit card  at the restaurant.   We do engage in one on one conversation (a seemingly lost art in these days of texting and emailing) and get to know people...who they are...what they need....and who we are and  how we may be of assistance.

I can't say how it started...signature gestures just seem to take on a life of their own..and when you have found one that "fits" .....it becomes a natural sort of thing that you do every time the occasion presents itself.Cupcake

Our "Signature Gesture" is a Cupcake !  It's not just ANY cupcake....it is one from a special bakery that measures about 10"across and almost a foot high...the decorations vary and now that we know the baker...we can request special cake and decoration to match the occasion.  Now...what is an occasion ?  Hmmmm....It might just be...and has been....an appointment wtih a doctor or dentist who has gone above and beyond and offered us the kind of service we think we deliver....personal and professional.

It might be...the Sellabration of signing a listing contract...it can be a sweet remembrance in soooo many ways and it is ALWAYS remembered !    So much so that Doctors, Lawyers (no Indian Chiefs...YET) have taken time out of their busy day to call and personally thank us for having gifted them with this sweet surprise...which of course was accompanied by a few business cards and ended up in the break room of the medical practice.

Purple envelope   Do yo have a signature ?  How best are you remembered to referral sources you may not have considered in the past ?  You know of course that the next step is that they are added to our data base of purple envelopes and get our snail mail "trademark" purple envelopes !  In between cupcakes they have some "crumbs of real estate wisdom" to remember that we are the people to call for all things real estate in southeastern Wisconsin.   If you know someone looking to SELL or BUY real estate in southeastern Wisconsin...call Sally K. & David L. Hanson, Broker Associates with Keller Williams Real Estate 414 525 0563   we are honored to be of service.

That's the way you do it.  Different strokeds for different folks!!!

Engage in one on one conversation (a seemingly lost art in these days of texting and emailing) and get to know people...who they are...what they need....and who we are and  how we may be of assistance.

Morning again Sally.

Those cakes look so good, do they taste as good as they look?  Maybe when I come to visit we can have one to celebrate our trip

Presented like that those aren't cupcakes, those are pieces of art.

I love you very clever "Signature Gesture". A great idea.

I have a name tag that I have never worn and I would certainly not wrap my car either, haha.  I am way more about referrals than shouting my own talents.

Light bulb just when off,  I love it Sally and David and it is a winner.  Can I reblog this one in 3 weeks?

Very nice idea!!  I put my homemade cookies in a cylindical clear plastic package and tie a fuschia ribbon around it.  For more health conscious peeps, I make homemade protein bars.  I thought that was impressive, but it sure ain't a gorgeous, giant cupcake!  Wonderful job Sally K. & David L. Sally and David

What a neat, and tasty, idea that I bet works wonders.  But my problem would be...one for them, and one for me!

Sally I love this cupcake of an idea!  It's takes the cake LOL!  Honestly I need to pick up a bit on this practice as I've been sidetracked for a few months on another project. Thanks for the reminder - just what I needed.

Well, this one REALLY takes the cake, Sally & David! LOL

I don't have a trademark but, I may have just discovered one. I'll tell you the next time we chat!

As for what I do now, it's tailored to the referring person - based on their likes, tastes, etc.

Happy Monday!

What a great idea!  That is a huge cupcake and I don’t know of a bakery around my area that makes such a thing but it did give me “food for thought”.

Now I have to think of a "Signature Gesture" here.  Don't think anyone here makes huge (or even small) cupcakes. Chocolate is big in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Hmm...
