Relocate to Wisconsin : Candy Cane Lane ..A Milwaukee Fundraising Tradition for the MAAC Fund

Candy Cane Lane ..A Milwaukee Fundraising Tradition for the MAAC Fund

The people in Wisconsin have big hearts.....and one of the Candy Cane Laneways that is evident at this time of year is the holiday display of all things Christmas on Candy Cane Lane.

MACC Fund Candy Cane Lane 2017

96th Street to 92nd Street, Montana Avenue to Oklahoma Avenue West Allis, WI

                 November 24, 2017 - Tuesday, December 26, 2017

   Display Candy Cane Lane

In December of 1984, a group of neighbors in West Allis, WI got together to festively decorate their homes wrap their trees like candy canes for the holidays in honor of a neighborhood child that was diagnosed with cancer.   The neighborhood encouraged visitors to make a small donation as they drove through the neighborhood enjoying the holiday lights to support the MACC Fund, and Candy Cane Lane was born.

Since 1984, Candy Cane Lane has grown to include 300+ homes and had raised more than $1.6 million dollars for the MACC Fund .

Make Candy Cane Lane a part of your family’s holiday tradition and give hope to children battling cancer and related blood disorders.  Children empty their piggy banks every year to join in this worthwhile fund raising cause.

Sounds like an amazing tradition and one that I hope leads to an eventual cure for such things.  My Mom has a blood cancer, so I have learned a little about it over the years.

Good morning Sally. Many years ago there was a Candy Cane Lane on the Northside of Chicago. Every house had one for blocks! Enjoy your day!

Good afternoon Sally and David - this is really a great idea.  Why not use the Christmas decorations to raise money for a cause.
