Relocate to Wisconsin : Our Friendsgiving Menu.....and Friendship We Cherish

Our Friendsgiving Menu.....and Friendship We Cherish

We  look at today a little differently than many people...there is no family to  share a feast....The kitchen won't be quite as busy as when it was preparing  courses ...another meat for Mom and me (not  turkey fans)  and vegetables aplenty for Thanksgiving soup.  Those are fond memories and will be forever etched in our minds  and our  hearts.  It is the 4th anniversary of my Mom's passing and with no family left....we now celebrate Friendsgiving.

Cranberry orange relish We never attend  any kind  of event without bringing  something  to  share.  Grandma always made cranberry orange  relish and we re-created it with the  grated cranberries, whole oranges and just a tiny bit of sugar..garnished with mandarin oranges,  orange slices and mint leaves.

We  think food should be eat, to enjoy and so our fruit turkey became part of the  menu.

              Nothing  like a little decoration

for  dessert that  hits the  spot next toFruit turkey

the array of pies....and our Reese's

turkeys   were a big hit with everyone from the kids to the oldest adult....easy to do and great to watch the smiles around the  table.

Candy turkey   It  was a day to create new memories and enjoy the company of friends....for that we are most  grateful..  Hoping you and yours had the Happiest of Thanksgivings  and  look forward to a wonderful holiday season.  Hansons Both

Hi Sally K. & David L. Hanson - It is very hard to start new traditions. But you strike me as those who are resilient and bounce back with inspiration of a wonderful future.

We take in our neighbors who are away from family. They have become part of our family and we are happy they are here. Happy Thanksgiving!

Sally and David,

Turkey does not Thanksgiving make.  It is what is in your hearts that makes it.  You have a lot of love that you share with all of us.  A

We have Friendsgiving too some years - when the family is gone and friends are left in town with no place to go for the day. I can't bear to have anyone alone today!

Enjoy your Friendsgiving, Hansons both! May you have a wonderful day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Your salad is so pretty. I'll have to give that a try. The dessert turkeys would be a hit with my grandsons. Do you have something like that for Christmas?
