Divorce of Course....The Niche that Keeps on Giving...

   We have been encouraged this month to JUMP START our practices with @Lynn Friedman's challenge to in part, write posts about our niches,   No pogo stick could propel us higher than our divorce niche this month,....the flurry of activity has Pogo Stickbeen exciting and energizing.   Due to the flurry that has been a storm of formerly unknown proportions....we may not complete the formal requirements of this contest...but do want everyone to know the prosperity .....and far, far beyond that, the satisfaction that it can bring to your practice.  This month, not yet over, we have NINE divorce related transactions...lDrama masksistings for the most part and smidge of purchases as well. walks/blogs/comments in the Rain have been shorter as the people who have honored us with their business, take precedence. 

    Many agents imagine that divorce is a niche that they would never consider because there is just...."too much drama." Lots of real estate is drama...divorce of not.  It is not the yelling and screaming one may imagine ...It is people in need of real estate services....and you  can choose to be the "go to agent(s)" and when we give you ways to initiate and maintain tPhone Ringinghis really, really the Real Estate agent the public imagines....and sit quietly at your desk and wait for the phone to ring....and it will.

    We really do enjoy coaching Realtors and have designed our mentoring course called Dream...

Divorce Real Estate and Mentoring.  ToDream us it's the dessert of our practice sharing what has become our favorite course ih people eager to kearn this niche that we have nurtured and grown. Yesterday's accepted offer...this morning's appointment on the southern end of the next county  and tomorrow's listing are energizing our practice....and of course still carving out the "us time" for last night's dinner with friends...and this afternoon's Packer Party's energizing, so satisfying and did I mention...Prosperous...?!

This is one niche that I have researched. Divorce rate is still high and people want to sell assets quickly to move on with life.

Good for you! With the divorce rate unfortunately hovering at 50% this is a very lucrative niche. I'm always amazed at how many of my listings the couples are divorcing or have divorced! Go get'um!!

Hi Sally K. & David L. Hanson - I have not had any divorce sales. Sadly, many estate sales. Some siblings are co-executors and don't get along.  Those are challenging but I always find a solution that works for all parties.

When I was an agent I had only a few divorce sales. What stands out in my mind was the fact that one summer I had two purchases blow up at the last minute because the couple decided to get a divorce instead of a house.

From what I have read, January is Divorce Month.  Is it because the stress of the holidays becomes the last straw, is it a tax thing, or maybe it is the cold, dreary weather in most parts of the country?  I am working on my Divorce lending certification and I look forward to connecting with superstar agents like you who really understand the details of Divorce and Real Estate.

I always thought that building relationships with divorce attorneys would be a good sorse of referrals Sally K. & David L. Hanson . I clicked on your link to a previous post and would love to learn more about how you built that side of your buisiness but I live in Florida. A one on one in person isn't practival unless you do it by phone. If your session are over he phone, then I'd like to know more.

Sally K. & David L. Hanson do you get referrals from professionals servicing the divorcing couples? Or do you rely on some kind of focused networking or marketing to reach your niche?
