Relocate to Wisconsin : Days, Nights, Weekends....In Our Real Estate Practice

Days, Nights, Weekends....In Our Real Estate Practice

A day in the life of these Realtors...often becomes the succalarm clockessful agent has a time clock.....just an alarm clock to be sure they are up early enough to get everything that is on the "To do" list....Done !

I am the morning person and David the night person...a sort of new definition of 24/7 real estate ! Java, a visit with Dini and his morning treats ...on to Active Rain and a visit with  the people we know....and the ones we are about to meet...sharing our post for the day.  After that, I begin the day with the list...Color Coded....the he, me and we tasks for the day followed by the calendar which is both business and social.  Our practice has the "normal things" one would expect to find in a real estate practice...listing appointments...inspections, closings, timelinescales of justices...showings. The twist comes with the kinds of things that are involved with the Divorce part of our practice.  Some days that includes simple updates, others conference calls, occasionally court or mediation appearances. It can be answering questions from divorcing clients and their counsel. Rarely a week goes by that the phone conversation doesn't begin with "Hello, my name is _______MyDREAM attorney told me to call you...." That lead to a natural expansion of our mentoring course...DREAM (Divorce Real Estate and Mentoring) was born due to the interest from agents across the country who also wanted to add divorce to their practice.  It is more work to do one on one coaching than a webinar series but far effective we believe in becoming a successful part of an agent's practice.  If you missed our recent introduction to this course, you can find it clicking here. Those sessions are often "after hours" when agents have uninterrupted time for a session.

Purple envelope   Our marketing is my area and our monthly snail mail newsletters have several versions directed to different audiences.  There are drafts of each that get articles added throughout the month so that this does not become a marathon of writing at the last moment. In addition to the newsletter there may be other things we include that are reference pieces that our recipients get or a personal note to include with their monthly message

Our own home updating, redecorating projects take a back seat to our practice which has also taken a turn in people approaching us with their projects....the updating of kitchens and baths, the addition of remodela rec room...the dining room that becomes an office...Ah diversity...we LOVE it ! A trip to the tile store for back splash samples, David's consulting with the designer on a lower level floor plan....never a dull moment !

We "lend" our favorite contractors to our clients first....and for now, our second bath remodeling with a wall to be taken down and new fixtures will wait till the end of the month to make some progress....I am excited about the color changing with Shower Headthe heat of the water oiled bronze shower head....still in the box...and another blog when that project is completed.

Tuesdays are always "Nacco/Tacho Tuesdays" ...which have become a networking tradition. It could be with a lender, a buyer, a seller...this week it is with a committee we are chairing for a FUNd raisCollaborative Foundation of Wisconsiner for CFW, the Collaborative Foundation of Wisconsin. This is a not for profit organization that provides low or no cost legal services for divorce. This is the beginning of an event that will be held next fall  and  the volunteer committee has members from a variety of business disciplines that work with divorcing couples.

As others have said...part of the joy in working in this business is that no two days are ever the same...from the "traditional" things to the areas that have evolved from what we love doing....we enjoy our practice...and keep practicing in all of them !

A Day/Night/Weekend in the life of the Hansons in southeastern Wisconsin real estate is diverse, interesting and devoted to the busines we have the honor of sharing with clients and customers.

Know one attorney that used to do divorces and was great at them but stopped. It was too crazy, the calls on Sunday and fighting, referering over small stuff. Your divorce counseling is so needed. But it takes a lot out of an agent or broker that wades in and helps set the expectations, steers the pathway of wreckage to a new life Sally K. & David L. Hanson !

I bought a similar shower head and changed it without telling anyone. It was kind of funny but I love it. Your course sounds wonderful, cant wait to click on it

Your business sounds very similar to ours. Rich and I split up our tasks too! Divide and conquer!
