There are a number of different ways that we do our lead generation...and we are from the "whatever works" school which may vary in different markets and niches. Some markets have local print media available, an active chamber of commerce, a networking group....wherever you decide the "richest soil for harvesting leads" is in your market...go there are and see what you can do to cultivate it....Grow where you choose to plant yourself. When you find that method, continue to "fertilize" and grow it further...you will be amazed at the other things that come as a result of your cultivation. There are a number of different things that we do and continue to cultivate....and most begin and are "off shoots" forgive the pun...or don't....of our ...yes...here it comes...again...Purple Envelope monthly newsletter to several different sphere audiences.
Each month, each sphere gets a "Life Letter"....a short story, life lesson on themed letterhead...that is the common element to each mailing. We have learned that both this Life Lesson page and our newsletters travel to college students, widows clubs, HOA meetings...always with our contact information at the bottom. The second sheet has short pieces of information that relate to that particular group...whether it is past/prospective buyers and sellers or a segmented business referral...they each get their own letter with information pertinent to their interests.
To further cultivate these areas...we choose to do extra things..it was face time recently when we delivered trick or treat baskets to offices of referral sources. Next month as our newsletter announced...and people wait for each year...it will be our large full color calendar with our picture and contact information on it...it hangs in teacher's lounges, employee break rooms, homes and offices...nail and beauty salons.....and has gorgeous photography of the area that people appreciate. Thank you American City Calendars for providing us with a quality mailing that stays with people all year long and we are thanked for continually by our spheres.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well. This calendar in addition to the usual holidays also has the dates of the many festivals and local events sprinkled throughout the year and people LOVE them !
If you stay in touch with your sphere...you know that they may be considering remodeling or redecorating....a handwritten note and a business card from a store or contractor with their newsletter...OR all by itself tells them that you are thinking about them....and have the resources as their respected "go to" person...to help them with their project.
You may find that getting to know your sphere gives you entree to organizations they belong to ...people they know...etc....and your influence continues to expand...fertilize and grow as does your mailing list.
Like attracts like....and in terms of qualifying leads....using this method of people you already know...who know people...in our experience with very few exceptions, you are introduced to people like the people who introduced them to you...and you need not have to "weed out" this "new crop" of people. Yes ...we do keep track of where each lead comes from in our CRM....and yes they get a very personalized thank you from us.
Each new client, customer. lead is neatly categorized..monthly...from who, how they came to us....and often that inspires other ideas to cultivate and fertilize that area for a "richer crop" of more leads.
