Relocate to Wisconsin : No WONDER Buyers lurk rather than Meet Realtors....

No WONDER Buyers lurk rather than Meet Realtors....

Last night we were invited to have dinner at one of our first time buyers' new condo. The couple and their son  from Northern India and prepared a multi course meal with their native dishes...I passed on the goat but the rest of the meal was rich in vegetables and very good. We discussed many of the traditions of their native country from their own arranged marriage to family members putting other family members through school.

Mrs. Buyers parents are coming later this month to stay for a few months and they wanted to be sure everything was in order...we gave them the names of someone for drywall repair...we showed them how to operate the gas fireplace with a flick of a switch and how the ice cube maker could be fiexed.

Their young son loves the condo and the open concept is far more to his taste than the apartment they came from across town. If he gives any thought to misbehaving his parents tell him that the Hansons will be over to take back the condo and send him back to the apartment. No Wonder people are afraid to talk with Realtors...they are the bad guys who take away comfy condos !  Before we left, Mom and Dad told their son to thank us for finding them their new home....and that with the accompanying hug certainly made it all worth it !

Sally and David,

Was the goat with Curry?

Sounds like you had a fun time.

Sally and David,

...Sounds like you might be able to work with their son in a few years-as long as he does'nt have to go back to the apartment!

What wonderful hosts - curry is good around here in some places, but I bet if you had curry, what you had was great.

And Sally, goat is pretty good - think of it like a pig , just in a different shape.

 Blog 0n and stay warm,

Steve

I too just recently had a meal with a client (buyer) at their home, and even had goat. I was surprised that it was actually good and very lean. But then came the surprise... I noticed that on my plate was some rice and some sort of hash over it, so I tasted it. Turned out it wasnt so bad and had it's qualities to it. Upon asking what it was, I was informed that it was chitlens. My stomach did a flip and my mind wandered, but I managed to regain my composure. I managed to eat a respectable portion of this "family tradition" and kept my composure the whole time. It seems that in doing that I have tapped into a family whom I am working with now on buying their first home, and their Military son will be using his Army credit soon and has pledged to work with me as his agent.

Would I have dinner with them again? Absolutely! After the meal any tensions or reservations that I felt coming from them had completely disappeared and I was accepted as a part of their circle.
