The Smokehouse burger takes on many different tastes as you can choose to "dress it as you wish with a huge array of toppings from cheeses to vegetables...bacon to condiments. Matty has put together a different burger for every day of the month .....even the bread changes with your selection ....a brioche bun, pretzel roll, sourdough...onion kaiser. Whether you are looking for a little Mexican Spice, Italian Flair, Cheese and Vegetable variety...the calendar will show you the choices...or be creative and build your own ! The smokehouse burger itself has a whole different taste AND texture than any burger you have ever had before...a select combination of smoked brisket and angus beef...very finely ground and compacted into an entree you will long remember and be back to order again.

It sounds like my kind of joint. There are a couple of holes in the wall here that I enjoy immensely. Matty's doesn't sound like a hole in the wall, but it's the intimate places that grab me.

When I lived in Dallas, some of us went on a quest for the best hamburger. And that was fun to visit all kinds of home-grown burger-specializing restaurants.
Lucky you that you found a place that caters to people in search of a variety of burgers.
We have a small hamburger joint in Alameda that makes the best Korean burger, bulgogi style. Now that I think of it, a visit tomorrow is in order. YUM!
