A Touch of the Midwest in Sonoma County! This weeks winery has some of it's roots, so to speak, from the Midwest. As indicated on their website, ""The Chateau" was Ernest and Maude Goff's summer home back in 1920. The family, originally from Saginaw, Michigan, made its fortune in iron mines there, and in lumber in the Pacific Northwest. When Chateau St. Jean was established in 1973, the decision was made to preserve the Goff legacy. "The Chateau" was fully restored and opened to the public.
The fishponds in the shape of Lakes Michigan and Huron, and the arched footbridge, delight visitors just as they did 80 years ago." Chateau St. Jean is an award winning winery and it's wine's are consistent performers. Personally, their Chardonnay is one of my top three, and has been for several years. These rich, delicious, crowd-pleasing wines would be a perfect compliment to your Thanksgiving dinner and other up-coming holiday celebrations. They are all well worth their pricetag of $14.99 a bottle, but Mike has come through again, and if you buy a case of his special mix, he will give you a 40% discount!! Your guests will be impressed!
Here is a wine review...AND special pricing to stock up for the holiday Celebrations...from Consumer Beverage in Hales Corners. No need to tell them them you paid $6 less a bottle...we'll keep your secret...
This wine is great with so many foods, or all by itself, relaxing at the end of the day. Winemaker Notes: "Notes of blackberry, black currant and dried herbs jump from the glass of this captivating Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate the wine is rich and juicy with black fruits, round tannins and a touch of smoky oak. Bright berry flavors persist throughout the long finish." 2009 Chateau St. Jean Sonoma County Merlot Winemaker Notes: "Aromas of sweet black cherry, black plum and toasted almonds burst from the glass of this Merlot. These bright fruit characters carry over onto the palate and mingle with notes of blackberry, dark chocolate and clove. A rich and full mid-palate, with polished tannins, leads to a lush finish with cassis on the close." 2009 Chateau St. Jean Sonoma County Chardonnay This Chardonnay has traditionally been one of my very favorites in the store and I felt it was well worth it's $15 price tag. At this price it competes with many Chardonnay's at higher price points. It's very difficult for me to not take Mike up on this 40% off deal. This Chardonnay is perfectly balanced with everything I look for iin a Chardonnay. Pear, apple, and a touch of vanilla, ample, but balanced, butterscotch and oak. Mmmmm...

Sally/David, Great way to get the word out about your midwest wines...and yes, it's funny that Roger was the first one to comment on this one!
I think Roger...you need to open an "Adult Beverage Store"....why not a chain ?
I like wine doesn't matter what it is I like wine
Crowd pleasing wines.... doesn't the Doctor say a glass or two is healthy, adds a little to your life experience?
