For those of you who dared not believe/conceive of purple kitchens...it's true...it is very true...not blue...but purple. As we tell our sellers, there is the way you live in a house....and that is sometimes not the same way you get it ready for sale.
I LOVE purple...it's vibrant, passionate...exciting...and so for our kitchen we have chosen real grape vines as window treatments...no those aren't real grapes :).......and a pale purple wall....it's me....it may not be you...or the next residents of this house...but for me...it's purple.
Have a wonderful weekend...find your passion...purple or not...and live it, love it....and all good things will come your way.

Sally, I'm a purple believer so I like the look. Others, as in buyers, may not especially for a kitchen. It's always the number one complaint; the color of the walls. Neutral is best when selling, but may not be practical for sellers to repaint. nice picture,
It's how we live...not sell...and no one pleases all the people all the time...when that time comes, the grapes may be stamped into something else...buyers don't seem to be long on imagination...if only the whole house was beige..snore...boring to the purple people like us...but a consideration for a sale.
I have seen all sorts of color schemes in houses, but I think that this is the first time that I have seen a purple kitchen...
Come on up Michael..it's even better in person...and we might even find something other than grapes for your place at the table !
I'm a purple person too! Have a prosperous weekend! I had a buyer several years ago who couldn't stand the color, and wouldn't you know it seemed live every home we looked had something purple, or some variation!
Sally, good advice. Imagine a world of purple kitchens....or even better a world of kitchens reflextive of ones personality....or even better a world full of people enjoying life, loving life and living with passion.
hey Laura....who can't love purple...well I guess you found the Buyers !
yes Brian..Purple...passion...reflection...not for everyone all the time...for now, for me ...it's living Purple !
When decorating your home, you need to use colors and a style that works for you and that you can live with every day...........it seems like that's exactly what you have done Sally.
Several months back, I was working with a client and she was having trouble with color..........she found an area rug for her living room and commented "when I look at this rug, it makes me smile"............we had our color palate, it's that simple.
Well done.
I was waiting for your comment Roger...you are right (of course ! ) Purple does make me smile...and that is what life should be about after all...have a great weekend !
When I read the headline, I though - ugh, yuck. But, when I saw the picture I really like liked it - a different purple than I was envisioning, and it works well w/ the green. And, yes, if you're living there and planning to stay a while, it's fine to do what you love; when you're prepping for a sale, that's a completely different matter.
We are amazed....and maybe it's because people want to be complimentary...but we are actually finding Purple to well received.....and there is sooo much grape decor available...it's easy...and for us, fun !
My daughter's room is the same purple as your writing and the sides of your location! And you know the guy who painted it...
We had a wine theme kitchen in our house prior to this one! I love your kitchen, Sally and I would love to be sitting round your kitchen table with a cup of coffee, no make that a glass of wine and discussing all kinds of things. We could solve all the problems of the world in your kitchen!
Have a great weekend as well.
Dixie
We think purple is a good thing..your daughter has excellent taste Jay...and the painter isn't bad either !
Hey Dixie...let's make that reality....you like changing leaf colors right ? You can be the escorts for our transferrees !
Love the color! I have a bright orange accent wall in my new modern kitchen....around it is all classic neutrals so it is not too much in my opinion....I have the deep red for my office, and a sagey green in the bedroom....I agree..I can neutralize when and if I sell someday...until then, bring on the color and personality!
And who knows Kristin...if the laws of attraction are in action...your buyer might just like orange, red and green !
Your kitchen looks beautiful. I'll bet there have been a lot of good times with family and friends at that table.
Thank you Gail...it is home to a lot of creative cooking ...our stress outlet....we have as much fun cooking as we do entertaining !
