The more life experience you have...the more you realize that people are either givers or takers and you aren't likely to change one to the other. Takers are blind to the benefits of giving...even for themselves and often blindly plow ahead without vision of the big picture...taking what they can get and mooooving on to the next thing.
Givers are not concerned about the return on their investment of time, money, talent....part of their energy is derived from the act of doing...not necessarily getting in return.
Sometimes you have to step back from relationships...givers have to decide if the takers are worth the effort...the time...the energy or if in the end...it just leaves the giver feeling depleted and used.....and ultimately, distrusting of the taker who only looks out for what the return is and not what can be contributed to the relationship.
You can apply this to blogging...the information you share...to every aspect of your life...and decide who you are...how you want to be known...not for what you say...but for what you do, contribute or extract from life experiences and relationships.
Would people say you are a GIVER or a TAKER ?

Thanks for sharing - I hope I am a giver!
i would bet you are....and proud of it...good for you...the rewards are endless as you know
Sally & David,
I like the Words "don't grow weary in doing good". It seems if a giver keeps giving (like sowing seed) they will end up receiving (like a harvest). I've noticed some of the most successful companies in the world have giving as a core value. I believe giving says more about the heart than the head. lol
All The Best!

Hi guys...boy, I would sure hope I am perceived as a GIVER not a taker...but, as long as I know I am, that is all that matters I guess :-)
Sally and David: Boy ... this is a blog that makes you pause and reflect. I believe this is a question that possibly could be answered better by my wife ... but ... I strive to be a giver. I fear that I slip into being a taker at times though. I prefer to look at it as ... I'm still a work in progress ... even at 53.

In blogging, it pays to give ecclectically!
I know I am a giver because I am so exhausted! LOL! I would like to think that others consider me a giver. I have a few takers in my life...those that call only when they want something. They can be really draining.
Sally
Sometimes it becomes even more difficult when you identify people with both angles of this but on angle can be positive and one not.
