If an agent has done a short sale that involves an FHA seller...things get slowed up just a tad...a few more pieces of paper...snail mail required. (Interesing when email and faxes are acceptable for approval.)
We have explained the process,,,warned the wait may be a bit longer...we didn't know that relatives of those same friends that know ....what the price should be...what you should write...the list price....are now advising on short sale tables...wonderful !
Does absolutely everyone want this to move faster ? Is there any merit in a snail's pace, a turtle race...a molasses drip.....yes...of course...adding another layer to the process doesn't speed the approval process.
Hey Friends...instead of giving words of wisdom on something you don't know anything about...how about congratulating the buyer for writing on a short sale at a great price, taking advantage of a great opportunity..buying with low interest rates and the selection terrific.Aw come on, be a pal..be supportive..cheer those short sale buyers !

Sally, don't you know that is why they call them SHORT sales? LOL!!
Short sales are just another oxymoron. Very similar to congressional intelligence...
We like to think they are worth the wait...and if the buyer isn't prepared to wait...better not to even start the process. You think if we voted to change the name to something more accurate...like lingering...lengthy....we could make it fashionable ?
Sally and David: In this current climate, any buyer that survives through a home closing should be applauded. The process they have to endure has taken much of the joy out of the buying of a home. For those entering the short sale ... this is even more true. You are definitely right when you say a successful short sale is typically worth the wait and hassle. The process proves that having an educated and experienced short sale agent/representative is mandatory for success. But why oh why does it have to be so slow and painful???? Hopefully time cures ...

The biggest complaints Costa Ricans have of all the Americans moving down there and building schools, hospitals, roads, etc., is that the Americans move too fast! Our speed of doing things is disrupting the culture!
I believe that ...we vacationed in Costa Rica...and well...hmmm...relaxing is wonderful...and then there is the over dose of siesta !
Ah yes, the most dreaded statements are prefaced by "My [insert name of relative/friend here] said we should....
Short, traditional....whatever the listing or sale....the friend/relative/neighbor is the ultimate authority...urgh !
