A reminder to everyone in every market...today is the day to change batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors...make sure all of your safety precautions are safely functioning for your own protection.
Its daylight savings day today and besides trying to adapt to the time change, which I can say messed me up this morning there are other things you need to do today.
A seemingly smal items in the home tht often times gets overlooked until its too late: Carbon Monoxide detectors and Smoke alarms. I recommend that everyone changes batteries in their Smoke alarms and Carbon Monoxide detectors today and test them to make sure they are working. A good routine to follow every year like clockwork.
A small item that really can save a life. I hope nobody ever has to test these devices but the harsh reality is that fires Do happen and fule burning appliances Do fail. Why not set a routine that annualy on the same day they are changed? Easy and not expensive to do.
General rule: CO detectors last around 5 years and smoke alarms around 7 years, so if they are older replace.

And replacing those detectors completely every 7 years! NOBODY does...
Oh, and don't forget to change the diverter valve on that there septic system!
Septic,...ewwww...I am such a city girl...roger on the replacement Inspector !
Sally and David: Great reminder and recommendation regarding the detectors. Also appreciate Jay chirping in with his suggestions above. It's good to be reminded gently ..
Gene
Jay chirps...among other things...
And if you don't have a fire extinguisher in your home, get one. If you do, have it checked to make sure that it will work if needed.
