It's been calculated the Cash for Clunkers cost us $76,000 per vehicle turned in. Only the government would think that is a success.

That actually is a very good program and in these times people should take advantage of getting some serious help like this when they can qualify by being more green and in return becoming even more green.
Jay's calculation in his comment fails to take into consideration future benefits of having all those clunkers off the road.
