          Welcome to the City of South Milwaukee where the median family income is $43,900 and the average home sale price in 2005 was $157,100. Bordered on the east by Lake Michigan, the north by Cudahy, the south by Oak  Creek and the west by Franklin. The estimated population in 2006 was 20,716.             The eastern border of South Milwaukee is Grant Park and the beach that is a part of the social life of every high school student....because of the recreational facilities; tennis courts, an 18 hole golf course, picnic areas, sledding and skating. The lakefront is a popular parking place for "good night kisses" which is locally referred to as "watching the sub marine races."

  SCHOOL SYSTEM The city has 4 elementary schools, 1 middle school and 1 high school.
