August can mean the dog days of summer in Wisconsin...it can be 100...the humidity can be high...this year we have not had either really high temperatures or too much unbearably smothering humidity....all the more reason to come and visit the Badger State !
August in Wisconsin is one more reason to celebrate...the 10 days of the Wisconsin State Fair starts today !
Moooove over eveything on your calendar....if you live here, you know that cream puffs are part of the tradition at the fair....and then there is the fresh roasted corn....and now there is bacon with chocolate...a little sweet...a little salt....lots of palate pleasing treats thoughout the fair grounds while you...
- Go to the Midway and ride the________roller coaster, tilt a whirl, tamer merry go round....bumper cars...
- Visit the animal barns and see the biggest and best livestock the state and the 4H-ers have to offer
- Leave your allergies at the door and go thru the Flower Building...oh the displays....it used to be tradition for
Senator Proxmire to stand guard and greet all the visitors to this fragrant display.
Both the fair administration and the vendors have worked to make this entertainment wallet conscious....there is something for everyone...enjoy the weather...heaps of fun...it's an annual celebration you won't want to miss !

I've only been twice... the summer after 4th grade and after senior year of high school??? Or maybe after my first year of college. I was more of a Summer Fest girl.
Going to the Ohio State Fair tomorrow... I think I have only been there once.
Waukesha County Fair was what I loved growing up! Every year.
Chocolate on bacon? Why not!
Come on out you two...wouldn't that be fun ? We'd show you some Wisconsin hospitality...mmmm..
the bacon with chocolate sounds better to me than our big new thing at the fair this year... deep fried Buckeyes. Now I love Buckeyes which are made of chocolate and peanut butter but the deep fried does NOT work for me.
I had no clue how important bacon has become. I would see tweets and mentions about bacon on Facebook but I had no clue. Columbus first BaconCamp was last Friday and I missed it.
