Yesterday. I went to see one one my very favorite physicians...Dr. Manfred Chiang...he is wonderful...compassionate, bright, cutting (he IS a surgeon) edge....he is truly the highest and best. Last year in an attempt to permanently rid myself of what I thought was recurrent phlebitis...I had 3 laser vein treatments...with 2 more scheduled. After 3, I was no better....and had other medical priorities that got in the way of doing the last two. I questioned the wisdom of 2 more when the first three had not produced any noticable result. Plane rides, desk sitting, webinars, seminars are all forbidden activities without a pillow, pain...most likely both.
Soooo...off I go to see if a stripping of what I believed was a vein problem would improve my "sitability"...Dr. Chiang is big on education....he explains everything. His/my very successful lapband surgery for me a year and a half ago is why I am no longer diabetic ! As he moved the monitoring device over my now lotioned thigh...I told him how I thought the screen resembled an old black and white TV between channels and how I couldn't see anything.
His well trained eye and gentle tone explained his probe was looking for the "black marbles" on the screen which would be the veins. I showed him where my recurrent and severe pain was and he ran the probe again and again....there was no vein there.... Physicians are careful not to critique one another's handiwork....but I have now learned that the 3 laser surgeries I had last year that produced no results were to treat a vein that was non-existent and not the problem.
The laser surgeon did the same test...he never explained what he saw....and more importantly did NOT see...I will deal with this another way....but as with lots of other things...it came down to money...he sold me what I didn't want, didn't need...it was ...
I am reminded of the duties we have to clients and customers...
- Pricing a listing correctly....it's not what the want, need, "have to have"...it is what the market SAYS
- Overlooking or minimizing issues as a buyer's agent which may become "larger than they appear" later
- Whenever you make your goal ALL about the Money....it's Not all about the buyer or seller...and that is not a good thing......Priorities...Ethics....
