Finding Housing Isn't Always Commissionable...But It Can Be Rewarding

Grandma

We are at an age where many of our friends and neighbors have elderly relatives that can no longer live on their own. Since there are varying degrees and various prices and  of "assisted living" , you will have to do some home work to become knowledgable in your market.  There are senior condos which may just offer wider doorways, bathrooms that are "walker friendly"...walk in showers, etc. Senior apartments with their own cooking facilities but with the added comfort of having bed and bathroom "calling cords" and check up phone calls. Lifecare apartments that also have extended lifetime healthcare in another part of the facility.  Some places are all private pay, some qualify for medicare reinmbursement.  Perhaps there is a local association that offers a directory...OR you could make one available on your website and as a direct mail piece. When a child or care giver is suddenly faced with the reality that living alone is no longer an option...you be offering the best and most comforting new home to both the "senior" and the caregiver.

Welcome to Milwaukee County - Something For Everyone !

Milwaukee County Logo

Milwaukee County covers 242 square miles in the southeast corner of the state. The population of 936.498 makes it the largest in population...while one of the smallest counties in area.  The downtown area bordered on the east by Lake Michigan and the Henry Maier Festival Park grounds. The park grounds graciously host a summer of ethnic festivals featuring entertainment, music, food, exhibits, crafts, fireworks and the summer fun that draws people from every corner of the country. The 22nd largest city in the country, Milwaukee offers an active night life, theatres, the Milwaukee Symphony, a fabulous lakefront dotted with beaches and marinas and restaurants. Local residents are used to hearing weather forecasts: "Cooler near the lake"....and that can also refer to the bustling nightlife, new condos and downtown area.....not just a dip in the temperature.

If you are interested in moving to the greater Milwaukee area,  click here and we will be happy to send you listings in the area, give you a tour or answer any questions you have.

Traffic in Milwaukee, compared to other large cities is nothing...wait a few minutes earlier or later and you can take 10 minutes off your commuting time to work which is not likely to be more than 20 to 25 minutes no matter what suburb you live in or where you work.

Milwaukee is very architechturally diverse....a walk along Lake Drive and the east side will find you in the company of mansions, some with separate guest houses.  Traveling away from the lake brings you everything from traditional colonials to ranches, bungalows and a few multi-levels scattered here and there.  Local folks don't think of this friendly midwestern city as a bustling metropolis...rather..."A big small town." Easy to find your way around and a short commute.

My father used to say that the Milwaukee area had two seasons...winter and construction.  Every year people ask where spring went....when it happened. We often say if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes and it will change....very true especially in spring and fall when you can witness 30 and 40 degree temperature differences in a few short hours...or drive to the western edge of the county from the lakefront and the temperature is likely to increase 15 degrees.  The national weather service says that the average spring temperature is 54, summer is 79, 59 in the fall and 31 in the winter.  The average snowfall is 53 inches...thankfully not all at once !
                                    milwaukee parks

PARK SYSTEM  Milwaukee County Park System celebrates 100 years this year...with over 15,000 acres of parks scattered throughout the area...several taking advantage of the scenic lakefront locations. Picnic areas, swimming pools, tobaggan slides, golf courses, nature trails, skating ponds. pavillions, playgrounds...all the ingredients for outdoor recreation  in every season....something for everyone of every age.

MEDICAL CARE  is plentiful with more than two dozen hospitals and a variety of outpatient clinics. The level I trauma center is located at Froedert Hospital near the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Childrens hHospital and the Southeastern Wisconsin Blood Center.
